What are we about?

Riders are athletes, and they deserve to treat themselves that way!

Who are we?

Our Mission

I’ve been an endurance rider for over 10 years. And as you may well know, in endurance (or any horse sport for that matter), there’s a huge focus on the horse’s wellness. Everything is done to protect the horse -- often at the rider’s expense.

You give your horse expensive, balanced nutrition, but you yourself are on a steady diet of ramen noodles. Or your horse gets new shoes every 6 weeks, but you don’t get new ones for 5 years. Sound familiar?

In this sport, it’s a badge of honor to suffer for the sake of your horse. But I believe we have it all wrong. I believe that by treating ourselves as well as we treat our horses, we’re giving them the best gift we can: a strong, balanced, healthy self. Too many times I’ve heard at the final vet check of rides “horse is fine, rider’s lame.” It’s a laughable comment that makes light of a much more sinister problem: that suffering is natural and expected, or the rider is the weak link. It’s a deeply ingrained belief in the horse world.

But it’s time for that to change. And I’m inviting you to be a part of it. I believe that you can be better than suffering through rides or races. I believe that you can be the partner your horse needs you to be. It’s time to take a stand and take care of yourself as well as you care for your horse.

And it all starts with the Ride Like an Athlete group of programs and community. You have the opportunity to be part of a special group of people who are changing the narrative of suffering in the name of the sport. It’s a rider fitness training program and community that shows you exactly what to do to be a balanced, supple, fit rider. But it’s more than just your average fitness program. It’s a program that will change how you see yourself and how the world sees you. As you commit to yourself, your horse will notice. As you commit to yourself, other riders will notice. They’ll want what you have -- a graceful, easy, and effortless connection with your horse. And you’ll know that it wasn’t supplements or a saddle pad or chia electrolytes. You’ll know that it was the small decisions you made to commit to yourself, guided by the proven training program in the FitRider community. If you’re ready to commit to your partnership with your horse…

And you’re ready to do what it takes to be the rider your horse needs you to be…

If you’re ready to ride without pain…

And you’re ready to inspire riders around you…

Then the Ride Like an Athlete community is for you.
